Job Description

This position requires a passionate and technology driven candidate to be responsible to manage product delivery of Legal & Regulatory Vital Law Product team in India. This role requires very strong technical skills in software development and a proven ability to deliver products to the market. Day-to-day activities will require working across multiple work streams, managing performance of team leads and individual developers, and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery. This role assists with the planning and estimating of work, understands requirements of and desired functionality being built, and helps craft the technical solutions that will deliver the desired functionality.
This is a role will report directly to the Director of Technology / India Head Legal & Regulatory and is crucial to the continued growth of the product and business unit within Wolters Kluwer.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESObsessive focus on customer experience and continual delivery of value. Effectively lead to instil trust, empower team members, focus on business outcomes, and foster a learning culture. Foster DevOps culture to ensure that applications can be built, tested, deployed, and monitored in an efficient and automated manner. Manage a team of 15+ engineers and responsible for delivery of product on-time with superior quality. Maintain and lead awareness of industry best practices and relevant technologies. Monitor trends in software engineering and development tools to influence the solutions for Vital Law. Understand capabilities and functionality of the platform and products to design and develop new features, modifications, enhancements to current products and tools. Participate in Code reviews, setting and implementing coding standards, hands on troubleshooting whenever required across different teams. Partner with cross functional leads and other stakeholders to design and develop modifications and enhancements to Vital Law. Coordinate with Product Management in all areas of development including planning, estimation, risk escalation, mitigation, delivery, and support. Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching/mentoring to direct reports. Produce high quality software and participate in continuous improvement to achieve higher efficiency. Mentor technical leads, senior and junior software engineers through formal and informal channels. Ensure that all operational and employee related escalations are properly managed and resolved. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Bachelor's degree in engineering (B.E. or B. Tech.), Computer Science or Engineering with equivalent credentials Master's degree highly preferred

Experience and Skill set:More than 12 years of experience with a minimum of 8 years of development experience in modern UI SaaS applications using typescript, React.js, NodeJS and AngularJS. Minimum of 4 years of experience managing small to medium sized teams. Experience in working in agile teams using technologies like React.Js, Node.JS, typescript and different kind of datastores. Experience in Java or .NET or Python would be nice to have. Strong UI expertise, a deep understanding of frontend frameworks, and experience working with modern cloud-based applications Extensive experience using and managing GIT-based source control systems to drive continuous integration and delivery. 5+ years' experience building cloud native applications. Extensive experience with agile development methodologies and processes required. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement. Strong strategic thinker: Ability to apply conceptual strategy, facilitate brainstorming, and direct day-to-day execution of projects through to completion with proven experience creating strategies that are executable through creative expression. Ability to oversee multiple complex project deliveries in parallel. Comfortable operating in fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience with GitHub copilot or similar AI code generation tool to enhance productivity
