Job Description

Role PurposeAs a Pre-Sales / Solutions Manager, you will play a critical role in converting qualified prospects into customers. You will own the solutioning and product-pitching journey-from discovery and demos through proposal support and deal closure-before handing over successfully to Implementation and Account Management teams.This role combines product expertise, consultative selling, and commercial discipline, and directly carries deal conversion / sales targetsKey Responsibilities1. Discovery and Solutioning- Engage with B2B prospects (PE, VC, AIF, Private Credit, Fund Administrators) to understand business workflows, pain points, and decision criteria.- Conduct structured discovery sessions to map client requirements to product capabilities.- Provide Level-1 solutioning-configurations, use-case mapping, and functional fitment.2. Product Pitching and Demos- Deliver compelling product demos (virtual and in-person) tailored to the prospect's investment lifecycle and operating model.- Articulate value proposition clearly in business and financial terms (efficiency, transparency, scalability, compliance).- Handle functional objections and position the product against competitor alternatives.3. Deal Support and Closure Ownership- Work closely with Sales/BD to take opportunities from qualified prospect stage to commercial closure / contract signing.- Undertake proposal preparation, scope clarifications, commercials alignment, and responses to prospect questions.- Maintain deal momentum through timely follow-ups, recap notes, and internal coordination.4. CRM and Pipeline Discipline- Maintain accurate CRM records for opportunities, activities, deal stages, and next steps.- Ensure pipeline hygiene, forecast accuracy, and adherence to defined sales processes.- Track demo-to-conversion metrics and deal velocity.5. Customer Onboarding & Success Support- Ensure a structured and complete handover to Implementation / Account Management teams post contract signing.- Document scope, assumptions, and client expectations clearly to ensure smooth onboarding.6. Cross-Functional Collaboration- Partner with product, implementation, and sales leadership to ensure seamless customer experience.- Share market feedback and recurring client needs with Product and Sales leadershipRequired Skills & Attributes- 1-4 years of experience in Pre-Sales, Solutions Consulting, or Sales Engineering roles in B2B SaaS.- Proven experience delivering product demos and supporting deal closures.- Prior exposure to financial services, fintech, enterprise SaaS, or B2B platforms preferred.- Basic finance knowledge is essential, especially understanding workflows of Private Equity, Venture Capital, Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs)- Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).- Strong consultative selling mindset- listens, probes, and positions value.- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and global clients across time zones.- Commercial acumen to support pricing discussions and deal progression.- Hands-on familiarity with CRM systems (Hubspot, Salesforce or equivalent).- Comfort working with video conferencing, demo environments, and collaboration tools.Succes Metrics- Demo-to-opportunity and opportunity-to-closure conversion rates- Revenue / deal conversion targets- Quality and timeliness of CRM updates- Sales cycle time and deal velocity- Quality of implementation handovers (ref:updazz.com)
