Job Title Manager, Platform EngineeringTeam Management:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of network engineers.
  • Define and share the technical/functional team roadmap and vision according to the department/division/company objectives.
  • Manage Employee Engagement, recruitment, annual appraisal, PDR activities
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Set clear objectives, priorities, and performance expectations for team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Work with functional managers / section managers, Scrum masters and Product owners to align on the priorities and on individual performance.
Functional:
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and other networking equipment.
  • Ensure network security measures are in place and effectively mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee the configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of network devices and services to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
  • Implement and enforce network policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead network-related projects from conception to completion, including planning, resource allocation, and coordination of tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Communicate project status updates, milestones, and challenges to stakeholders and upper management.
  • Timely preparation of status report and communicating the status updates to the internal & external stakeholders
Common accountabilities:- Leading and mentoring a group of engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation while aligning team efforts with organizational goals. This role requires strong technical expertise in networking, cloud knowledge and software development, along with exceptional leadership and communication skills.- Accountable for the budget, performance, and results of a medium-sized team. Influences the resource, budget and policy planning and sets concrete development plans for the team members.- Has a mid/long-term vision of the activity and the business, influences the organization\'s strategy based on a broad understanding of the environment. Exposed to complex decision making.- Works with a high level of autonomy, based on management directions, escalating issues only when necessary.Specific accountabilities:
  • Design, deliver and implement network foundation services technology solutions according to developed standards and business needs particularly achieving agility and time to market requirements, with optimized and shortest lead time to connect and according to infrastructure demand forecast.
  • Drive, develop and deliver the full automation of network services to enable a shift to a software defined network paradigm.
  • Manage and maintain the internal/external foundation services technology solutions infrastructure components to ensure compliance, business efficiency, flexibility and increase the value chain.
  • Provide support in the incident and problem management process with respect to all the internal/external foundation services technology solutions related issues.
  • Lead, motivate, coach and develop team members \xe2\x80\x93 drive a culture of strong staff engagement, high performance and foster continuous improvement as an incremental piece of the daily work.
  • Lead network-related projects from conception to completion, including planning, resource allocation, and coordination of tasks, requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Understand customers\xe2\x80\x99 (internal/external) needs and translate them into services.
Know How / Skills
  • Demonstrate leadership ability and management skills
  • Ability to lead team, empower staff, run development discussions, relationship building and constrains management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation combined with good communication skills, with fluency in English both written and oral
  • Very good knowledge/hands on in network platforms and tools
  • Very good knowledge/hands on in software development cycle, CI/CD, Jenkins pipeline, Python/shell scripting, Infrastructure development tools like Terraform/Ansible, version control system git/bit bucket
  • Good experience in cloud Azure, AWS, Google cloud
  • Good debugging and problem analysis skills
  • Project management experience as well as experience in agile (SAFE)
  • Financial/Business experience
Skills & Knowledge \xe2\x80\x93 Technical / Functional and Managerial
  • Stay in line with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in networking to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to resolve complex network issues and escalations.
  • Solid track record of successful people management
  • Experience in matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience using a range of agile methods, balancing priorities, and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced Project management and coordination skills
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience in network communications protocols, Network security and Internet.
  • Strong personality with Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a multi-cultural environment.
Education and Years of Experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree with 4 years of technical education or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ITIL \xe2\x80\x93 Sound understanding of IM, CM, PM, CMDB
  • Prior experience of handling Infra / Network projects
  • Hands-on experience in Cloud technologies, Python, Terraform is a plus
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, Cloud) is a plus
  • Work experience in Travel Industry is a plus.
Relevant Job Experience:
  • 10 to 13 years professional experience in the relevant field
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in similar role
