Job Summary: As the Manager of Placement Services at Chandigarh University, you will be responsible for leading and managing the placement team to facilitate successful career outcomes for students. The role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with employers, implementing effective placement strategies, and providing career guidance to students. The Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing the employability of students through internships, industry collaborations, and job placements.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive placement strategy aligned with the university's goals and the evolving needs of the job market.
  • Analyze industry trends, employment demands, and skill requirements to tailor placement services accordingly.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the placement team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective career development services.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment to enhance the team's performance and impact.
Industry Engagement:
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with a wide network of employers, industry professionals, and alumni to expand internship and job opportunities for students.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to develop internship programs, workshops, and industry-relevant curriculum.
Student Career Development:
  • Provide career counseling and guidance to students, assisting them in identifying and achieving their career goals.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance students' employability skills, including resume writing, interview preparation, and networking.
Placement Events and Programs:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute placement events such as job fairs, campus interviews, and recruitment drives.
  • Work with the marketing team to promote placement activities and enhance the visibility of the university among potential employers.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Utilize data analytics to track placement success rates, alumni achievements, and industry trends.
  • Generate regular reports for university leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Collaboration with Academic Departments:
  • Collaborate with academic departments to align curriculum with industry requirements, ensuring students are equipped with relevant skills for the job market.
  • Facilitate industry experts' involvement in curriculum development and guest lectures.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in business administration, human resources, career counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in career services, placement, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial position.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, employment markets, and employer expectations.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with career services software and technologies.
