About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented

Manager of Operations and Logistics

possessing extensive expertise in

food export operations

. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire export process, from initial documentation to final dispatch. This role demands strong coordination skills to effectively manage vendors, logistics partners, and internal teams, ensuring that all shipments are executed punctually, cost-efficiently, and in full compliance with export regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1.

Export Operations & Documentation

Supervise end-to-end export documentation, including Proforma Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, FSSAI, and customs papers. Work closely with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and customs officials for clearance and timely dispatch. Track consignments, share shipment updates with buyers, and resolve logistics or documentation issues promptly.

2.

Procurement & Vendor Coordination

Source and negotiate with reliable domestic suppliers for food products and packaging materials. Ensure timely procurement, adherence to export specifications, and maintain consistent product quality. Keep an updated record of supplier performance, pricing trends, and purchase timelines.

3.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

Supervise daily warehouse operations including storage, labelling, and packing of export consignments. Monitor stock movement and ensure product hygiene and packaging compliance in warehouse for export markets. Coordinate dispatch schedules based on client and shipping requirements.

4.

Reporting & Communication

Manage the harmony between Sales, Marketting, Admin, and Data teams for planning and tracking shipments. Prepare and maintain MIS reports covering export status, logistics cost, and vendor efficiency. Prepare and submit weekly summaries that highlight performance metrics, potential delays, and cost optimization opportunities.

Cost Control & Process Improvement

Review freight, logistics, and supplier costs periodically to identify better commercial terms. Recommend ways to streamline operations and reduce delays or overheads. Track and improve KPIs such as shipment accuracy, cost efficiency, and document compliance.

Key Skills & Expertise:

Strong knowledge of export-import procedures and international trade documentation. Capable of building and maintaining

long-term relationships with global buyers, distributors, and agents

. Excellent coordination and communication skills with logistics and customs partners, with prior experience in managing international clients Proven track record in handling food exports (processed, dehydrated, or packaged foods). Prior experience in

Food / Agri Commodity Export, FMCG, or Processed Food Industry

preferred. Proficient in ERP tools and MS Office Skilled in vendor negotiation and operational planning. Organized, proactive, and able to handle multiple shipments independently. Familiarity with port operations, export compliance, and insurance handling. Knowledge of FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC, and international food regulations

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, International Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management. Additional certifications such as

Export-Import Management (IIFT / MSME / FIEO)

or

Diploma in Logistics / SCM

will be a strong advantage Proven track record of independently handling

end-to-end export cycles

freight negotiation

, comparison of rates, and managing transporters or forwarding agents 7-10 years of experience in export operations, trading, logistics management or supply chain management within the food industry. Knowledge of Incoterms, LC processing, and shipping documentation is essential. Experience managing

cross-functional internal teams

-- operations executives, warehouse staff, packing assistants, drivers, and helpers. Exposure to

warehouse setup, layout planning, storage optimization, and dispatch scheduling

. Ability to establish

SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)

for warehouse and export workflow. Familiarity with

third-party quality inspection agencies

(SGS, Intertek, BVIQ) and export compliance norms Capable of generating periodic

MIS reports

, performance trackers, and operational dashboards for management review. Excellent communication and coordination skills to liaise with international clients, suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
