The Manager on Duty (MOD) serves as the primary administrative contact during non-business hours (evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays). The MOD is responsible for overseeing hospital operations, ensuring smooth coordination between departments, handling patient and staff concerns, and responding to emergencies to maintain patient safety and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the central point of contact for all administrative issues during assigned shifts.
Ensure smooth functioning of hospital operations across all departments (clinical and non-clinical).
Handle patient and visitor concerns promptly and professionally; escalate to management if needed.
Supervise housekeeping, security, front office, and other support services during off-hours.
Conduct regular rounds across the hospital premises to ensure cleanliness, safety, and discipline.
Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, and performance during the shift.
Respond to and coordinate internal emergency situations such as code blue, fire, or critical incidents.
Support admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
Ensure that all patients receive timely care and services as per hospital standards.
Maintain a shift log/report to update hospital management on significant incidents and observations.
Liaise with clinical and nursing teams to address operational concerns and resource needs.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and statutory regulations during the shift.
Assist in arranging immediate support in case of shortage of staff or any equipment failure.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hospital Administration / Healthcare Management or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in hospital operations, with at least 2 years as an MOD.
Preferred Background:
Experience in multi-specialty or tertiary care hospitals
