Job Description

ROLE OBJECTIVE IN BRIEF



To ensure that all the operational activities of the hospital are running smoothly in the odd hours of night and on holidays ensures that both patients and doctors receive the proper support and coordination and ensuring right and timely patient service

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Handling VIP Patient



Introduce self and accompany patient's during the visit/admission

It needed accommodate patient's in Administration room cabin

Arrange for refreshment if necessary

Keep the patient's comfortable till they depart

Handling Patient and Attendants



To provide all necessary help in case of any requirement from the patient attendant

Overseas the patients awaiting admission are given their rooms at the earliest, Visit the patient and deal promptly with complaint arising out of room allocation

During the rounds ensure that there is only one attendant per patient

Try and restrict the movements of the attendant at the nights

Overseas that the newly admitted patient is visited promptly by the concerned consultant and if she is not available, by the specialist duty doctor

Oversee that the investigations required for newly admitted patients are promptly carried out

In case of Death Ensure the Following



Settlement of all payments-pharmacy, telephone, F&B, other service charges

In case of death ensure that the situation remains under control and the body is disposed of as quickly and quietly as possible.

Assist relatives of diseased patients in all matters that may arise including the completion of all hospital formalities

Handling Human Resources



Ensure adequate number of doctors and staff on duty

During rounds check staff for grooming and discipline

Any unsolved staff problem tom be informed to Head Operation

Ensure security guards are in respective positions

Grand Rounds



Minimum of 4 rounds should be made at an unexpected time during your duty

To check for any suspicious or unknown persons loitering inside the hospital

Premises/dept without any reason

Check whether all consultant rooms/unused diagnostic services room are locked

Check materials/OT/F&B stores are sealed at nights

Supplies received after the departure of the store's personnel have left for the day are properly accounted and kept in safe custody for disposal next morning

Check cleanliness and hygiene of the hospitals at night

Check the maintenance problem of the hospital

Oversees any biomedical, maintenance and housekeeping problems/break downs and ensure that they are rectified

Follow up any other instruction as per management

Consult Head of Operations & Hospitality for matters which are not routine

In Case of Emergency



The night managers activity in this area shall be done in conjunction with COO

Acquaint oneself with the calls for assistance that may have been made by the public/police

Overseas the request for additional transport, medical equipment and manpower including doctors, nurses and housekeeping staff, are provided when the need arises

Care must be taken to ensure that these are re-deployed once the requirement eases

In case there arises the requirement to send for technicians, nurses Doctors etc, from their residences in case of an emergency operation, these are dealt with promptly and in proper time

Reporting



Any usual happenings in the night should be recorded in the log register

Any matter that needs to be brought to the attention to the Head of Operations should be entered in the log

Complete the night report in the night managers log sheet. This should include all correct report indicating the time at which night rounds was carried out.

Others



Credit Card batch to close without any reminder

Check all rooms, whether all vacant rooms are locked and also check for occupied rooms right patient in right room

Check for all block rooms

Check for movement of security staff

Check for any maintenance issues

Check both front and rear end of the hospital premises every 2 hours
kindly make sure all issues, any emergences are mentioned in MOD report

Any patient room is miss used MOD is responsible.
Kindly hand over the night shift messages to morning shift front office staff

Do not leave the reception before any staff comes and take over the shift.
