Supervise and coordinate the activities of hospital staff across various departments during assigned shifts.
Assign duties and responsibilities to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow.
Provide guidance, support, and coaching to staff members as needed.
Address staffing issues, including scheduling conflicts, call-outs, and performance concerns.
Patient Care Oversight:
Monitor patient flow and bed management to ensure timely admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Respond to patient care needs and concerns, ensuring quality care delivery and patient satisfaction.
Coordinate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to address patient care issues and ensure continuity of care.
Emergency Response:
Serve as the primary point of contact for managing emergencies and critical incidents within the hospital.
Activate and coordinate emergency response protocols, including Code Blue, Code Red, and disaster response plans.
Communicate with relevant stakeholders, including hospital administration, medical staff, and external agencies, during emergencies.
Customer Service and Communication:
Interact with patients, families, and visitors to address inquiries, complaints, and requests for assistance.
Ensure effective communication between hospital departments, staff members, and external parties.
Provide updates and reports to hospital administration regarding shift activities, incidents, and operational issues.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Monitor compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards during assigned shifts.
Conduct regular rounds to assess the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of hospital facilities.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
Administrative Duties:
Complete administrative tasks, such as documenting shift activities, preparing reports, and updating shift logs.
Assist with inventory management, equipment maintenance, and supply ordering as needed.
Collaborate with other hospital departments and support services to facilitate smooth operations.
