Key Responsibilities
Lead the complete
NPD lifecycle
from concept to commercialisation
Coordinate with
design, R&D, production, quality, procurement, and marketing teams
Analyze customer and market requirements to develop innovative and cost-effective products
Ensure adherence to
APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and DFMEA
standards
Drive
prototype development, testing, and validation
activities
Manage product costing, feasibility studies, and tooling development
Oversee
vendor development
and localisation of components
Ensure compliance with
automobile industry standards
and regulatory norms
Monitor project timelines, milestones, and risk mitigation plans
Support customer audits, technical discussions, and product approvals
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of
Automobile / Auto Component manufacturing
Hands-on experience in
NPD processes and product lifecycle management
Proficiency in
APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans
Understanding of
CAD drawings, GD&T, materials, and manufacturing processes
Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Effective communication and customer-handling skills
Educational Qualifications
BE / B.Tech / Diploma
in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering
Post-graduation in Engineering or Management will be an added advantage
Experience Requirements
Up to
12 years of relevant experience
in New Product Development
Prior experience in the
Automobile or Auto Component industry
is mandatory
Exposure to OEM interaction and customer-driven development preferred
