About the role
As an MEP Mechanical Manager, you will oversee the planning, design, and execution of mechanical services, ensure compliance with standards, optimise costs, manage consultant deliverables, drive innovation and coordinate cross-functional teams for project success.
Key responsibilities

  • Financial strategy
  • Provide technical inputs during Business Development stage for TDD projects to support Go-No Go decisions
  • Collaborate with the Costing team during TDD for MEP-related cost estimations
  • Implement cost optimization measures to effectively control the Cost of Construction (COC)
  • Identify and adopt innovative ideas and technologies for construction implementation
  • Procurement
  • Review all engineering deliverables, including DBRs, typical calculations, SLDs, design-stage drawings, tender drawings, BOQs and specifications, to ensure:
  • Safe engineering practices for MEP services aligned with relevant codes and regulatory compliance.
  • Cost optimisation recommendations on submitted deliverables
  • Drive engineering aspects of initiatives to enhance business performance and reduce costs
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables
  • Prepare RFPs for consultant onboarding and prequalification criteria for consultants, assisting the C&P team with process adherence
  • Finalise competent consultants for geotechnical investigations, engineering and external peer reviews with Head Office team inputs
  • Liaise with statutory bodies for compliance and approvals
  • Process management
  • Ensure adherence to and implementation of processes for:
  • Consultant appointments
  • Project-specific conditions and deviations
  • Identify and recommend process improvement ideas to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and improve productivity
  • Undertake process improvement activities within the work area
  • Coordinate with planning teams to understand project requirements
  • Collaborate with design, contracts, and C&B teams for tender finalisation and contractor onboarding
  • People management and development
  • Identify skill development needs for self and team members
  • Facilitate learning and growth through training, education and on-the-job learning opportunities
  • Functional responsibilities
  • Review of systems including:
  • Plumbing (water and drainage), Firefighting, Rainwater, Irrigation, HVAC, STP, WTP, Elevators, Piped Gas, Solid Waste Management, Swimming Pools, Water Features, Diesel/IC Engine Drives
  • Evaluate consultant deliverables for all project stages (concept design, schematic design, detailed design, tender, GFC) for:
  • Design basis reports, calculations, specifications, BOQs and drawings
  • Perform technical reviews of mechanical service products and data sheets, recommending optimal solutions to improve performance
  • Optimise MEP designs ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards and statutory norms (MOEF, CFO, municipal regulations)
  • Develop organisational standards for MEP design aspects in mechanical services
  • Research global design advancements, trends and new technologies, preparing implementation guidelines
  • Ensure familiarity with local, national, and international design standards, codes and authority requirements
  • Coordinate with:
  • Commercial and procurement teams for cost inputs and technical tender discussions
  • Cross-functional teams for electrical, ELV, FAVA/PA, CCTV, Access Control, BMS and communication systems integration
  • Zonal and regional project design teams
  • Support BIM implementation at the project level
Who are we looking for?
Education:
  • B.E/BTech Degree (Mechanical) from a reputed institute
Experience:
  • 12+ years of exposure to overall MEP design and the ability to manage all MEP services design
  • Experience of leading the MEP design team
  • Experience in both consultant and developer environments will be an added advantage.
  • relaxation up to 2 years for exceptional candidates or postgraduates
Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills
  • Designing solutions to complex problems
