Position: HOD - Mechanical (DRI)

Plant Capacity: 100 TPD x 2 Kilns
Reporting to: Plant Head / Unit Head
Employment Type: Full Time - On Roll

Key Responsibilities:

Overall in-charge of Mechanical Operations & Maintenance of the DRI Kilns (2 x 100 TPD).

Ensure maximum kiln availability and smooth operation with minimum breakdowns.

Plan and implement preventive, predictive & shutdown maintenance schedules.

Supervise mechanical maintenance of rotary kilns, cooler, ESP, ID/FD fans, compressors, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, and other plant equipment.

Monitor and control spare parts inventory, lubrication schedules, and consumables.

Co-ordinate with Production, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Safety teams for smooth plant operation.

Guide and lead the mechanical team (engineers, supervisors, fitters, welders, etc.).

Identify root causes of mechanical failures and take corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory requirements, and company SOPs.

Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance reports and MIS.

Plan for major shutdowns, kiln refractory changes, and modifications/improvements.

Implement cost control measures and energy-saving initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 10-15 years in DRI Plant Maintenance with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role as Mechanical Head / Sr. Manager.

Hands-on experience with 100 TPD rotary kiln operation.

Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, fabrication, alignment, and rotary equipment.

Good leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Familiar with safety procedures and statutory compliances.
