Job Description

Position: Machine Shop Manager

Experience: 8-10 years

Industry: Foundry / Machining /Heavy Engineering/Fabrication

Reports To - Foundry Head

Role Overview

Responsible for in-house machining operations and development of external machining suppliers. Key focus on process planning, tooling optimization, quality improvement, and timely delivery of machined castings.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and supervise machining operations (CNC, VMC, turning, milling, drilling, boring, grinding).

Develop process sheets, cycle times, and machining programs with production/design teams.

Ensure tooling/fixture selection and cutting parameter optimization for cost and quality.

Manage and develop external machining suppliers through evaluation, audits, and performance monitoring.

Drive productivity improvements, reduce rework, and support new product development.

Implement 5S, safety, lean practices, and preventive maintenance.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of CNC/VMC machining processes.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings

Experience in tooling/fixture design, cutting tools, and machining parameters.

Proven supplier management and development skills.

(Preferred) Knowledge of CAD/CAM, lean tools, systems.

Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing) or Diploma with strong experience.

8-10 years in a foundry/fabrication machine shop with supplier development exposure.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
