Import & Export Operations: Manage all shipping activities, from securing bookings with carriers to final delivery. Prepare and process all required documentation, including Bills of Lading, shipping instructions, and commercial invoices.
Freight & Carrier Management: Solicit and negotiate freight quotes from various shipping lines, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to ensure the most cost - effective rates and best service.
Customs Clearance & Compliance: Coordinate with customs house agents (CHAs) to ensure timely customs clearance for all shipments. Manage all import/export regulations, duties, and government schemes to ensure full compliance.
Cost Efficiency & Optimization: Actively track and monitor all shipments to prevent demurrage, detention, and other port charges. Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for optimization.
Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain a complete and organized record of all shipping documents, invoices, and customs-related paperwork for audit purposes.
Vendor & Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for freight forwarders, carriers, CHAs, and internal teams (sales, finance, and production) to ensure smooth communication and resolve any issues.
Required Skills:
In-depth knowledge of international trade terms (Incoterms), shipping documents, and customs procedures.
Proven negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data tracking and analysis.
