Job Description

Manager Legal for India & USA would work closely with Director F&A & Country Head and will lead the Legal team. This position will be helping in scaling up Legal processes, Policies, practices to meet short term, long term business goals for India & US location. The position would work towards the all Group of company's vision to supervise all Legal tasks of our company. The Legal Manager will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice and counsel to Shaip on a wide range of legal matters, with a particular focus on IT-related laws and regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the company's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, managing legal risks, and protecting the company's interests.

Key Responsibilities:



? Contract Drafting and Negotiation:



? Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including software licensing agreements, service agreements, vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and other IT-related contracts.

? Ensure that contracts are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and protect the company's interests.

? Intellectual Property:



? Manage the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets.

? Advise on intellectual property protection strategies and enforcement.

? Data Privacy and Security:



? Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, including the Personal Data Protection Bill, 2022, and other applicable global data protection frameworks.

? Advise on data security best practices and incident response.

? Corporate Governance and Compliance:



? Assist in developing and implementing corporate governance policies and procedures.

? Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including company law, labor law, and anti-corruption laws.

? Litigation and Dispute Resolution:



? Manage and resolve legal disputes, including pre-litigation negotiations, arbitration, and litigation.

? Legal Research and Training:



? Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant legal issues.

? Provide legal training to employees on relevant topics.

Qualifications and Experience:



? Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LL.B. or LL.M.) from a recognized university.

? Experience: 5+ years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, with a focus on IT law.

? Knowledge and Skills:



? Strong understanding of IT law, including contract law, intellectual property law, data privacy law, and cybersecurity law.

? Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.

? Ability to provide clear and concise legal advice to business stakeholders.

? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:



? Experience working in the IT industry.

? Experience with international law and cross-border transactions.
