Job Description

Role

: Responsible for management and overall smooth & efficient operations of Metal Working, Electronics & Prototyping laboratories, and shared equipment facility supporting deep tech startups. He / She will be the key contact for all startups, members, and other stakeholders using the space - shared lab, equipment, including induction and training on their use. He/She will ensure that all the activities are conducted safely, accurately, and in compliance with regulations and standards. He/She will oversee the day-to-day operations, manage the lab team, maintain equipment and adequate supplies. He/She will also work towards making lab activities self-sustainable in the long run by bringing in new initiatives, providing expertise to innovators, and building connections.

Key Responsibilities:



Laboratory Operations Management:

To oversee and organize all the laboratory supplies, consumables & accessories Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration, maintenance, and repairs. Vendor management Manage the process of procurement of laboratory equipment and documentation as per SINE's policy Develop SOPs for the lab equipment and ensure the implementation of the same Ensure compliance with ISO standards and maintain the data accordingly Managing and maintaining database systems. Design and conduct trainings in the labs
Quality Assurance and Lab Safety

Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results. Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel/users. Deploying software solutions to automate processes and enhance transparency. Maintain documentation and records related to laboratory activities, including protocols, procedures, and safety reports. Participate in internal and external audits and inspections, addressing any findings and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Research Support & Budget

Collaborate and assist in the execution of research activities, providing technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance to the users. Evaluate and recommend equipment purchases and upgrades based on requirements and budget constraints. Develop and manage the laboratory budget, including forecasting expenses and allocating funds appropriately. Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies without compromising quality or safety.

Qualifications, Experience, and Expertise:



Engineering Graduate with specialization in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical or Science Post-Graduate /Graduate in Physics/Electronics Minimum 5- 7 years' experience of working in prototyping or mechanical laboratory of which at least 2 years as a Lab Incharge/ Manager. Practical experience in working with broad range of laboratory equipment. Hands on with Microsoft Office (Word, excel, ppt) Age criteria (not applicable)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to perform under timelines in an accurate manner, to work in a team, multi-tasking.
