Role Overview
The Key Account Manager - Automotive OEM Sales will be responsible for managing key OEM and Tier-1 accounts in the North Region, with a strong focus on Maruti Suzuki-linked customers. The role involves front-end sales, RFQ handling, costing, commercial negotiations, and business forecasting, ensuring profitable growth and long-term customer relationships.
This position requires deep understanding of the automotive OEM ecosystem, strong coordination with internal cross-functional teams, and the ability to drive new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Key Account Management & Sales
Manage OEM and Tier-1 key accounts in the automotive segment, primarily linked to Maruti Suzuki
Act as the single point of contact for assigned customers
Develop and execute account strategies to grow business volumes and profitability
Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders across purchase, engineering, quality, and program teams
Front-End Sales & Business Development
Handle front-end sales activities for the Automotive segment
Identify new business opportunities, new programs, and model-wise growth areas
Support new customer development and expansion within existing accounts
Participate in customer meetings, negotiations, and technical-commercial discussions
RFQ, Costing & Commercials
Manage RFQ enquiries, product costing, and commercial submissions
Coordinate with engineering, costing, and operations teams for timely and accurate quotations
Lead price negotiations and commercial finalization with customers
Forecasting, MIS & Reporting
Prepare and maintain sales forecasts, pipelines, and account-wise business plans
Track sales vs budget and analyze variances
Prepare Sales MIS, presentations, and reports for internal review and customer meetings
Monitor market share, model-wise performance, and competitor activity
Customer & Market Intelligence
Track customer requirements, program timelines, and future sourcing plans
Gather market intelligence related to competitors, pricing, and industry trends
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
Customer Exposure (Mandatory): Hands-on experience in managing Maruti Suzuki and its Tier-1 / Tier-2 ecosystem, such as: Somic ZF, Subros, SKH, JTEKT, Plastic Omnium, Motherson Yachiyo, Sona BLW, Purflux, or similar automotive suppliers.
Skills & Competencies
Strong Automotive OEM & Tier-1 KAM experience
Proven expertise in front-end sales and customer management
Good understanding of automotive components, manufacturing processes, and costing
Strong CRM, forecasting, and MIS skills
Data-driven and technically sound approach to sales
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple accounts/programs
Ideal Candidate Profile
10+ years of experience in Automotive OEM / Tier-1 sales or KAM
Mandatory exposure to Maruti Suzuki-linked accounts
Strong commercial acumen with technical understanding
Gurgaon / North India market exposure preferred
