Job Description

Job Summary:



The Manager - IR & PR will be responsible for maintaining healthy industrial relations, managing employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and fostering a positive public image of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing unions, resolving labor disputes, and liaising with government authorities, along with proven experience in public/media communication.

Key Responsibilities: Industrial Relations (IR):



Maintain and promote harmonious industrial relations within the organization. Handle disciplinary actions, grievances, and employee disputes in line with applicable labor laws. Liaise with trade unions and participate in negotiations and settlements. Ensure compliance with all labor and industrial laws (Factories Act, ID Act, ESIC, PF, etc.). Coordinate with government labor departments and statutory bodies. Prepare and manage legal documentation related to IR matters. Develop and implement employee engagement and welfare programs to build trust and reduce disputes. Monitor and mitigate risks associated with workforce unrest, strikes, or lockouts.

Public Relations (PR):



Develop and implement strategic public relations and communication plans to build a positive brand image. Act as the spokesperson for the company in external communication, including media handling during crises or incidents. Draft press releases, public statements, and corporate communications. Build and maintain relationships with key media representatives and local authorities. Oversee corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and community engagement programs. Ensure consistent messaging and representation of the company in all external communications.

Key Skills & Competencies:



Strong understanding of labor laws and statutory compliance. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively. Proficiency in drafting legal documents, notices, and official correspondence. Experience in managing external communications and media relations. Crisis management and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with the working culture of shipyards, ports, or maritime organizations is an advantage.

Educational Qualification:



Bachelor's degree in Law, Industrial Relations, or Human Resources Postgraduate qualification in HR, Labor Law, or Mass Communication (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
