Job Summary:
The Manager II, Financial Accounting Team Lead, is a key leadership role within the Chief Accountant's organization. This individual will lead a team of accountants responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, with a focus on consolidations, intercompany profit, external reporting and treasury-related accounting. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a dynamic, global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of accountants responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
Develop and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Oversee and review the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and prepare commentary.
Collaborate with global finance teams, including tax, treasury, shared services, and external auditors.
Provide technical accounting guidance and support for complex transactions in partnership with the technical accounting team.
Drive continuous improvement and automation of accounting processes and reporting tools.
Communicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to provide insights and updates on financial results and initiatives.
Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies.
Support internal and external audits, including SOX compliance and statutory reporting requirements
Requirements:
CA (Chartered Accountant) required
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a US GAAP focus, including team leadership responsibilities.
Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Experience in treasury accounting or corporate financial reporting in a multinational environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and geographies.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with large data sets; SAP and BCS experience preferred.
Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, or Biotech industry experience is a plus.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
