About the Role
The Manager - HR & Admin will oversee end-to-end HR operations and administrative functions for our Sriperumbudur facility. This strategic role will ensure seamless people management, statutory compliance, workplace administration, and facility operations while partnering with plant leadership and corporate teams to drive organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Business Partnership
Serve as primary HR business partner to Unit Head and functional leaders for all people-related matters
Align HR initiatives with production plans, capacity requirements, and business objectives
Implement Group HR policies, frameworks, and organizational development initiatives at unit level
2. Talent Acquisition & Manpower Planning
Lead comprehensive recruitment for staff, supervisors, and workmen (sourcing, interviews, salary negotiations, offers)
Develop annual manpower budgets and headcount planning with department heads
Build talent pipeline through job portals, consultants, local ITIs, and employee referrals
3. Employee Lifecycle Management
Manage complete joining process, documentation, verification, and HRIS setup
Conduct structured induction/orientation programs for all levels
Oversee confirmations, promotions, transfers, separations, and exit formalities
Maintain accurate employee records and statutory documentation
Ensure accurate attendance tracking, leave management, and overtime calculations
Provide timely payroll inputs (new hires, exits, variables, deductions, statutory contributions)
Administer employee benefits (PF, ESI, gratuity, insurance, reimbursements)
Handle salary queries and compensation-related employee relations
5. Statutory Compliance & Industrial Relations
Ensure 100% compliance with Factory Act, Labour Laws, and Tamil Nadu state regulations
Manage statutory registrations, license renewals, inspections, and audits
Maintain statutory registers, returns, and documentation (PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare)
Handle grievances, disciplinary matters, and maintain healthy employee relations
6. Performance Management & Training
Drive annual performance management cycle (goal setting, appraisals, feedback, promotions)
Identify training needs and organize technical, safety, behavioral, and statutory programs
Maintain training records and skill matrix for compliance and development
7. Administrative & Facility Management
Oversee complete facility administration: housekeeping, security, canteen, transport
Manage vendor contracts for admin services (housekeeping, security, maintenance)
Administer office supplies, stationery, assets, and workplace infrastructure
Coordinate maintenance of office, plant admin areas, and common facilities
Manage visitor management, gate pass system, and workplace safety protocols
8. Employee Engagement & Culture
Design and execute engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and communication forums
Organize events, celebrations, sports meets, and team-building activities
Promote inclusive culture, diversity, and company values across all levels
Monitor and address absenteeism, morale, and workplace concerns proactively
9. HR Analytics & Reporting
Track key HR metrics: headcount, attrition, absenteeism, recruitment TAT, compliance status
Prepare monthly/quarterly HR/Admin dashboards for plant and corporate leadership
Recommend process improvements and cost optimization opportunities
Qualifications & Experience
Educational:
Graduate (any discipline) + MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent
Certification in Labour Laws/Industrial Relations preferred
Experience:
7-10 years total HR experience, with 4+ years in Engineering/Manufacturing at plant/unit level
Proven track record managing end-to-end HR operations
3+ years handling comprehensive Admin/Facility Management responsibilities
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of Indian Labour Laws, Factory compliances, and statutory requirements
Proficiency in HRIS/ERP systems, MS Office (Excel for analytics), payroll processes
Vendor management, contract administration, and budget control
Soft Skills:
Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering abilities
Strong communication skills (English + Tamil preferred)
Problem-solving, conflict resolution, and crisis management
High integrity, confidentiality, and ownership mindset
Industry Exposure:
Engineering, Manufacturing, PEB, or Industrial environment
Experience managing shop-floor workforce and blue-collar hiring
