Job Description

The role of a Manager of Housekeeping for Chains Manufacturing involves overseeing facility cleanliness, hygiene, and safety protocols within a production environment, ensuring compliance with industrial standards like ISO and OSHA.
Key Responsibilities

  • Staff Management: Lead, motivate, recruit, and train housekeeping staff and contractors, including scheduling shifts and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Safety & Compliance: Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and sanitation policies, including proper handling of chemicals and disposal of waste materials. Conduct regular safety audits (e.g., fire safety, hygiene) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, ISO 9001/14001, GMP).
  • Operations Management: Plan and coordinate day-to-day housekeeping activities across the facility, including production areas, offices, and employee facilities.
  • Inventory & Budget Control: Manage the housekeeping budget, monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, negotiate with vendors, and optimize costs without compromising quality and safety.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure that all areas meet the required standards of cleanliness and orderliness, implementing improvement measures as necessary.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Identify and report maintenance issues, coordinating with the maintenance department to ensure timely repairs of equipment and the facility structure.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of activities, supplies, and staff performance, and prepare regular reports for senior management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, with a degree or diploma in facility management, business administration, or a related field often preferred.
  • Experience: Prior supervisory or management experience in housekeeping, facility management, or a similar industrial environment is essential.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques, equipment operation, hazardous product handling, and relevant safety legislation is crucial.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills are vital for managing a diverse team and coordinating with other departments.
  • Physical Stamina: The role may require physical effort, including standing for extended periods and the ability to lift a certain amount of weight.
