Job Description

Job Summary:

The Manager - Fire and Safety is responsible for overseeing fire safety, risk assessment, and emergency response procedures to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards. The role involves developing and implementing fire prevention strategies, conducting safety training, and managing safety inspections and audits to mitigate fire risks.

Key Responsibilities:

Fire Safety Management:

+ Develop and implement fire safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
+ Conduct regular fire risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards.
+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire safety regulations and standards.

Emergency Preparedness:

+ Design and conduct fire drills and evacuation exercises.
+ Develop and update emergency response and contingency plans.
+ Coordinate with local fire departments and emergency services.

Training and Awareness:

+ Organize and conduct fire safety training sessions for employees and contractors.
+ Educate staff on fire prevention techniques and emergency response procedures.
+ Maintain up-to-date training records and documentation.

Fire Safety Systems and Equipment:

+ Supervise the maintenance and testing of fire protection systems (sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers, etc.).
+ Monitor the installation and inspection of fire safety equipment.
+ Investigate fire incidents and prepare detailed incident reports.

Compliance and Documentation:

+ Maintain accurate records of fire safety inspections, audits, and training.
+ Prepare reports for management on safety performance and compliance status.
+ Ensure that fire safety documentation is readily accessible and up to date.
