Job Description


The First Line of Defence (1LoD) Operational Resilience & Continuity team works alongside various LSEG divisions as well as functions (technology, cyber, data, facilities, people) to provide analysis, support expertise and oversee all areas of the organisation to ensure that all elements of Programme resilience requirements (Business Continuity and Important Business Services) are delivered globally in line with regulatory and internal policy expectations. Reporting to the Senior Operational Resilience Manager, this position requires an experienced professional who will act as a subject matter expert in Business Continuity, with a keenness to learn more and expand into broader Operational Resilience areas. The individual in this role is expected to work collaboratively with the second line risk function, sponsors, stakeholders, and those involved in the 1LOD delivery of Business Continuity & Operational Resilience in the business to ensure that regulatory commitments relating to business continuity and operational resilience are embedded across the Group to meet 2025 requirements. Alongside this, ensuring that \'business as usual\' activities are enhanced and developed to ensure ongoing improvements to the Group wide Resilience program. You will work towards achieving Operational Resilience by ensuring continuity of critical and important services to all LSEG staff & entities, office locations, covering both internal & external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: BCP support Support the Group Head of Operational Resilience to operationalise and embed the Groupwide Business Continuity strategy, operating model and policy across all relevant Divisional/Entity 1LoD functions. Responsible for the oversight and support of Divisional/Entity 1LoD Business Continuity Co-ordinators and their execution of all annual Business Continuity activities as per the defined timetable (incl review of BIAs, business continuity plans and scenario exercise design and testing). Provide challenge where required to BIA and BCP data quality and solution robustness, driving continuous improvements to resilience planning. Support Divisions/business units with their Annual testing program as required. Support audit and regulatory review activities and prepare responses to audit and exam findings related to Business resiliency. Represent the Group 1LOD Business Continuity team at various working groups across the business or corporate functions related to interlocked programmes of work or improvement initiatives. Develop LSEGs methodologies, guidelines, toolsets for assisting the business unit in establishing a successful Business Continuity plan. Train BC Coordinators/BC Champions on policy and framework requirements, controls and appropriate BCM methodology, strategies, plan maintenance, and the associated processes. Responsible for the aggregation and collation of Business Continuity plans, viability and preparedness insights and ongoing remediation implementation updates for input into Group fora/Committees. Work as an SME in-conjunction with the TPRM Vendor response team to support resolution of queries related to gaps and risks have been identified whilst evaluating vendor assessments. Support the implementation of a Centre of Excellence for Operational Resilience with a view to over time taking on additional responsibilities for: Partner with key stakeholders to ensure the development of appropriate Operational Resilience reporting requirements and key management information, facilitating requests from the business through to delivery of reports or information. Create the ongoing learning and awareness agenda for Operational Resilience, crafting the appropriate training material, provision of newsletters and supporting ongoing execution and training for key stakeholders across the firm. Create / maintain the Operational resilience 1LOD intranet site, and ensure supporting documentation is maintained and available for internal access. Support the implementation and ongoing management of the Group Operational Resilience governance structure, including facilitation of certain meetings and minute taking / distribution where required. Support the Global Divisions and corporate functions in execution of Operational Resilience policy / framework requirements, acting as a liaison for insight and advice on best practice and regulatory requirements. Support the Group 1LOD management team on additional ad hoc projects and deliverables as required. Key Behaviours and Skills Required to be successful in the Role: Working Experience . Significant experience implementing and operating global programs for Business Continuity in the financial sector. Develops and maintains powerful relationships with Business Leaders (CEO-2 and CEO-3 level), partnering with them to consistently embed Business Continuity across multiple business lines/functions. Thorough understanding of Business Continuity Management, principles, methodologies, and best practices. Understanding of global Operational Resilience regulatory requirements (PS21/3, DORA etc) a plus. An ability to understand and interpret regulations and apply them in a practical manner in an operational environment. Experience in developing, maintaining, and testing Business Continuity Plans. Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at different levels across the business. Skills. Self-motivated and highly organised with a sharp attention to detail. Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills. Confident in delivering training or presenting to small stakeholder groups. Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment. Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within business processes. Experience of working in a collaborative way with other departments to achieve own department goals and objectives. Good Project Management skills, with the ability able to work to tight deadlines. Proficient in the use of MS Office products, plus knowledge of MetricStream and IBM Blue Works is desirable.
