Manager, First line of Defence

Overview
This position will report to the Director , First Line Of Defense and will lead reporting of risks identification activities owned by Business Control Officer /Accountable Executives in D&A businesses. The hire will support reporting of the alignment to risk management policies and implement processes needed to align with them and promote the development of a strong risk culture within D&A
Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the Coordination of Risk assessment and maintenance of the Risk and Control Assessment (RCA) by the Business control officers/Business , including ensuring effective remediation actions are identified to address control vulnerabilities
  • Track identified risk remediation activities identified for \xe2\x80\x98Outside Risk Tolerance\xe2\x80\x99 risks are flagged and tracked by the BCOs and leads within relevant governance forums.
  • Collation of materials for relevant risk reporting committees at group level, e.g. Risk Dashboard. Work with the BCO to prepare executive and senior management reports
  • Work with BCOs to ensure tracking in place in incident reviews on material incidents, including documentation of root cause and remediations to mitigate risk going forwards
  • Provide 1LOD assessment of risks associated with new strategy, new products, major projects, or overall risk profile to business partners. Co-ordinate response to group requirements for data working with the BCOs in each business!
  • Work with 2LOD to identify appropriate Key Risk Indicators (KRI\xe2\x80\x99s) to monitor and report on non-financial risks. Support Director, Firstline of defense in Embedding a strong culture of risk awareness and accountability for controls and risk in the 1st Line within Digital Identify and Fraud and more broadly C3PRS
  • Stays abreast of relevant regulatory and industry developments, communicating changes to the relevant partners and making improvements to risk frameworks and processes. Independently leads the implementation and/or delivery of projects or initiatives as outlined by the Group Non-Financial Risk strategy. Acts as the key point of contact for key partners within D&A Business unit, and for Divisional/Functional contacts.Enhances risk models and policies, creates recommendations, leads the development and implementation of projects
  • Ensures up-to-date understanding of LSEG Risk Profile, any applicable rules or legislation as well as compliance requirements and external standard processes.Supports Implementation of applicable policies, procedures, controls and ensures adherence assigned business teams

Candidate Profile/ Key Skills:
  • Overall work experience of around 8+ years with extensive experience of 5+ years in risk management within a highly regulated industry. Deep understanding of risk and risk management
  • Previous experience of Risk Management requirements and controls to ensure compliance with external laws, internal policies, standards, regulations, and industry expectations

Additional skills:
  • Experience working with cross functionally teams such as tech and non-tech environment. Self-starter with a desire to analyse and leverage data!
  • Strong analytical and ability to influence without authority across teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with a positive track record of developing talent.
