The Manager, Finance & Accounts will undertake all aspects of financial management for
our operations in India, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting,
budget, and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies
and procedures. This position will report to the Country Head and mentor the Junior
Executive, Accounts. The Manager, Finance & Accounts will also report indirectly to the VP,
Finance and work closely with other members of the Finance team in Canada.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Prepares general ledger account coding and ensures accuracy of transactions.
Maintains and manages the daily/weekly/monthly/annual accounting requirements for
India. Prepares accounting and financial reports and analysis for submission to head office
in Canada. Prepares cost sheets and ensures costing for products are maintained and managed
accurately including classification of labour, materials, overhead and other relevant
costs to compute unit cost of products or services Implements and maintains effective financial controls, including any functions and
processes that have financial/commercial implications. Prepares external audit requirements and liaises with auditors.
Maintains compliance with all taxes in India, as well as bank and secretarial
compliance. Ensures all tax audits and assessments are completed and updated.
Maintains effective and consistent communication with head office regarding
significant financial matters. Performs accrual versus budgeted cost analysis.
Designs and maintains the MIS reporting framework - daily, weekly, monthly,
quarterly and annually. Prepares the annual budget for India and monitors the budget monthly.
Makes financial arrangements with banks.
Supports head office with the implementation of a new financial reporting system.
Supports special projects and initiatives, as well as ad-hoc reporting analysis.
Ensures all financial deadlines are met in an accurate and timely manner.
Coordinates and prepares cash-flow reports and forecasts.
REQUIREMENTS
Post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
CA, ICWA (Intermediate can also be considered), M. Com.
7+ years of relevant accounting and finance experience in a managerial capacity.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Experience with preparation of financial statements.
Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process.
Proficient in Accounting software such as Tally and/or other accounting packages.
Knowledge of payroll and taxes (i.e. TDS, PF, ESI and professional taxes).
Experience filing monthly, quarterly and/or annual returns with requisite authorities.
Experience with accounts payable, receivable (export and foreign exchange
accounting), bank documentation for exports and inward receipts of foreign
exchange, as well as month-end closures. Manufacturing and project reporting experience.
Experience working in an export-oriented company with knowledge of export
documentation. Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
Knowledge of GST, LUT & Refund of GST.
Experience working with auditors; and
Experience with SAP an asset.
