DCC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager - EXIM (Export-Import) to lead and manage our end-to-end international trade operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of import and export documentation, customs clearance, logistics coordination, and compliance with international trade regulations. In addition, the role will oversee banking activities related to exports and imports, including LC documentation, remittances, and other forex-related matters. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of EXIM procedures, international shipping terms, customs regulations, and trade finance, capable of ensuring smooth, cost-effective, and compliant global supply chain operations.
1. Key Responsibilities:
Obtain order confirmations and review terms (PI, PO, & LC).
Review and approve draft LCs; ensure receipt of final issued LC copies.
Verify stock availability with warehouse/3PL and plan shipment readiness.
Coordinate with local and overseas warehouse for consignment preparation and container stuffing.
Calculate CBM/volumetric weight and arrange shipment bookings with forwarders.
Prepare complete export/import documentation (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, COO, BL, etc.).
Liaise with CHA/forwarders for filing shipping bills, BOEs, and customs clearance.
Update the Export & Import details in ERP.
2. Post Import & Export Activities
For Ex-Works shipments, obtain acknowledgement of goods received and original negotiable documents.
Forward scanned copies of documents (Invoice, Packing List, BL, COO) to consignee before cargo arrival.
Track shipments for ETD/ETA and update stakeholders on delays or exceptions.
Ensure timely receipt of original documents from forwarders and submit to banks/customs as needed.
Manage timely realization of export proceeds and obtain BRCs from banks.
Reconcile duty payments, assess customs duties, and ensure closure of BOE/Shipping Bill.
Maintain proper documentation for audits, customs queries, and future reference.
Reconcile vendor invoices with agreed freight/duty/handling charges and initiate payment approvals.
Submit post-clearance documents (BOE, invoice, packing list, duty challans) to Finance and update ERP.
Track container movement and ensure timely de-stuffing/return to avoid demurrage and detention charges.
Coordinate with CHA/forwarder for Bill of Entry (BOE) filing and timely customs clearance. Arrange duty payment and verify accuracy of duty assessments.
Manage issuance of Switch Bills of Lading by coordinating with forwarders/shipping lines and ensuring compliance with trade regulations.
Manage e-BRC process for post-export incentive applications with DGFT.
3. Import & Export Compliance
Ensure adherence to DGFT, RBI, FEMA, RCMC, FEIO, IMC policies, Customs, and GST guidelines.
Obtain and manage export/import entitlements such as MEIS, Duty Drawback, RoDTEP, Duty Drawback, EPCG and Advance Import Licenses.
Maintain updated knowledge of HS classification, INCOTERMS, and regulatory changes.
Coordinate with banks for LC negotiation, export bill submission, inward/outward remittances.
Maintain compliance documentation for customs audits and internal reviews.
Manage annual renewal of Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) and yearly renewal of Federation of Indian Export Organization (FIEO) membership.
4. Coordination & Reporting
Act as the key point of contact between Sales, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Warehouse teams.
Coordinate with suppliers, forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to ensure smooth cargo movement.
Share Daily Shipment Report (DSR) and maintain MIS for all open shipments.
Monitor freight costs and negotiate rates with forwarders/shipping lines to optimize cost.
Conduct weekly reviews of open shipments, pending clearances, and documentation status.
Prepare monthly management reports covering import/export volumes, costs, and compliance.
5. Process Improvement & Added Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and improve SOPs for EXIM activities.
Ensure proper ERP/EXIM system updates with accurate shipment data.
Identify and close process gaps related to COO declaration, duty benefits, and compliance.
Support internal and external audits related to export-import activities.
Represent the company during interactions with government agencies, customs authorities, and banks.
Position Experience
Minimum 7-8 years of experience in managing end-to-end Export and Import operations, with proven ability to lead a team.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree/Diploma in any discipline (MBA preferred, not mandatory).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
Expert Knowledge Required
In-depth knowledge of Import and Export procedures, rules, and regulations related to Customs, RBI, and DGFT.
Strong understanding of business models related to imports & exports.
Ability to manage and control trade-related costs effectively.
Excellent communication skills for interaction with buyers, vendors, and partners.
Strong organizational and coordination skills to manage multiple stakeholders and processes.

Experience in handling USA & Europe EXIM operations.
Hands-on experience with EXIM documentation?(LC, Shipping Bill, BOE, BL, COO, BRC, etc.).
Proven ability to manage end-to-end EXIM operations?(pre & post shipment for both imports and exports).
Practical exposure to international trade finance & banking processes?(LC negotiation, remittances, e-BRC, incentives).
Ability to manage freight & logistics costs?with strong negotiation skills.
Compliance orientation?with experience in government schemes (RoDTEP, Duty Drawback, EPCG, MEIS).
