At athenahealth, the Internal Developer Platform team is dedicated to revolutionizing the developer experience by modernizing our technology stack, enhancing our internal developer platform developer experience and productivity, and building cutting-edge capabilities to accelerate software delivery. We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead one of our Tech strategy enablement teams.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Oversee the development and automation of applications to match the tech strategy defined. Work with product managers, stakeholders, and other teams to align on project goals and deliverables. Ensure effective communication and manage stakeholder expectations. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure successful project execution. Facilitate technical design discussions and ensure the production of accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications. Ensure high-quality software delivery by adhering to athena's policies, latest and emerging trends and technologies. Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional development of team members. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Champion a culture of quality, innovation and continuous improvement

Typical Qualifications:

10+ years of commercial software development experience, with a strong background in leading engineering teams. Experience in AWS, Kubernetes, Java/Python Prior experience working on Tech modernizations & migration, stakeholder management and cross functional team collaboration . Knowledge of distributed systems and micro services architecture. Full-stack development experience is a plus. Strong understanding of Agile SDLC practices, including unit and integration testing, design and code reviews, and documentation. Experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket. Strong communication skills to work across geographies, with a record of engineering achievement, code ownership, and customer orientation. Proven mentoring and coaching skills that encourage growth for junior team members. Track record of designing and delivering cloud-based products, modules, and services. Proven ability to implement and adopt new technologies and methodologies.
