Job Purpose: This position is responsible for leading the detailed engineering efforts for electrical systems within the BTG area, focusing on conceptual design, execution support, and optimization while ensuring adherence to technical standards and project specifications.
Responsibilities:
Lead Engineering Electrical - BTG
System Conceptualization and Design:
Understand system capacity and lead the preparation of design layouts, schemes, and BoQs based on inputs from the Team Lead.
Design and engineer BTG electrical systems, including switch yards, transformers, and switchgears, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
Project Execution and Support:
Provide technical specifications and support for tenders, coordinating with the Technical Coordinator (TC) for submissions.
Document engineering inputs, address queries from the site execution team, and support O&M during the post-commissioning phase with technical assistance.
Perform detailed engineering of electrical equipment, ensuring designs and documents adhere to tender specifications and project requirements.
Review and ensure the correctness of designs, schematics, and BoQs, maintaining alignment with technical standards and design codes.
Participate in site visits for M&A opportunities, assessing existing facilities and providing detailed engineering insights and recommendations.
Drive value engineering initiatives to enhance system performance and cost-effectiveness, implementing optimization strategies where applicable.
Cost Estimation and Technical Specifications:
Provide inputs for cost estimation and budget reviews, ensuring technical specifications are accurately prepared and aligned with project needs.
Ensure technical specifications meet project requirements and industry standards.
Understand and address issues related to retrofitting and augmentation, seeking clarification and providing solutions as needed.
Compliance and Documentation:
Adhere to SOPs, agile methodology, and CHETNA practices while ensuring compliance with design standards and codes.
Maintain accurate documentation and review engineering outputs to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements.

Qualifications:
Educational Qualification:
B.E./B.Tech in Electronics Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Work Experience (Range of years):
10-15 years of experience in the design, engineering, and management of electrical systems for BTG units.
Preferred Industry:
Experience in thermal power plants or related industries, focusing on electrical engineering for BTG systems.
