The Site EHS Engineer is primarily responsible for leading the Environment, Health, and Safety Deployment at site
to develop an EHS culture by providing support and coaching in EHS processes to sustain operations in a
safe and healthy work environment.
Establish a culture that is aligned with world class EHS goals and objectives, with continuous EHS improvements
Manage, direct, coach, lead, and motivate plant personnel to achieve EHS goals and objectives in a timely and safe manner, while continuously striving to improve safety skills & awareness
Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating EHS compliance activities through functional teams
Act as key EHS liaison with manufacturing and maintenance organizations assisting in the execution of their strategic and tactical EHS plans
Assist in the development and implementation of Environmental, Health and Safety programs and activities for the facility to achieve, maintain and exceed compliance with relevant regulatory laws and regulations
Responsible for directing incident investigations identifying root causes of EHS Incidents and executing sustainable corrective actions.
Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
Identify and develop good working relationships with state and local authorities (i.e., safety agencies, fire departments, etc.) as well as appropriate internal Environmental, Health and Safety contacts
Develop, coordinate and/or conduct EH&S training programs
Coordinate and assist in the execution of capital EHS projects to ensure compliance with requirements and completion on a timely basis. This includes recommendation of EHS capital equipment purchases and other equipment to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
Lead and assist employee safety teams to understand and own safety and compliance down to the lowest level.
Responsible for driving processes that will result in a reduction of accidents and injuries and the identification of potential hazards present in the workplace.
Advise, develop, and facilitate safety training to new shop floor employees and supervisors.
