Role Summary:
The DevSecOps Manager is a strategic leader responsible for embedding security into every stage of the software development lifecycle. This role ensures that security is automated, scalable, and integrated into CI/CD pipelines, while fostering a culture of collaboration between development, operations, and security teams. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with leadership skills to drive secure, high-quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & GovernanceBuild and lead a high-performing DevSecOps team.
Define security policies, standards, and best practices for cloud-native and on-prem environments.
Develop and maintain a roadmap for DevSecOps maturity across the organization.
Security Automation & IntegrationIntegrate automated security checks into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., SAST, DAST, dependency scanning).
Implement Infrastructure-as-Code security controls using tools like Terraform, Ansible.
Drive adoption of container security and runtime protection (Kubernetes, Docker).
Risk Management & ComplianceEnsure compliance with regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for applications and infrastructure.
Oversee vulnerability management and remediation processes.
Monitoring & Incident ResponseEstablish proactive security monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
Lead incident response and post-mortem analysis for security breaches.
Collaborate with SOC teams for threat detection and mitigation.
Collaboration & CulturePartner with engineering, product, and operations teams to embed security early in development.
Conduct training and awareness programs on secure coding and DevSecOps practices.
Advocate for a "shift-left" security approach across all teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:12+ years in DevOps/DevSecOps roles, with at least 3 years in leadership.
Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS).
Expertise in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and security integration.
Hands-on experience with container orchestration and security (Kubernetes, Docker).
Familiarity with security tools (SonarQube, HashiCorp Vault).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Certifications: CISSP, CISM, AWS/Azure Security Specialty, or DevSecOps-specific certs.
Experience with zero-trust architecture and advanced threat detection.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks and cloud-native security patterns.
