Purpose of the Job

:

1. Develop tread patterns for new products based on application, performance and customer requirements.

2. Review and tune cavity profiles in collaboration with product group based on performance requirement.

3. Design innovation to meet current and future product requirements.

KPI's

:

1. % Adherence to Design lead time - Target vs Actual

2. % Adherence to FTO, Design Registration Plan - Target vs Actual

3. No. of patentable concepts / Features developed

Major Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with PCR product development team to derive design inputs from customer requirement, prepare design specifications, and delivery schedule for OE / NPD projects.

2. Conduct benchmark and design attribute mapping to understand design features & trend and incorporate them in new product design.

3. Create tread pattern proposals based on application, performance and customer requirements.

4. Coordinate with simulation team for performance prediction & tuning.

5. Perform pattern noise virtual simulation and analysis & validate the pattern design.

6. Prepare input for Mould design and develop 3D tyre models for proto mould manufacturing.

7. Coordinate with mould engineering team for design for manufacturing verification and mould order process.

8. Interpret the Indoor & Outdoor test results with respect to the design proposals and finetune the designs.

9. Support in preparation of design patents and design registrations.

10. Support in preparation of FAB & Product illustrations for marketing communication.

11. Drive continuous improvements to the design processes to reduce design cycle time & develop design automations.

12. Support in technology & innovation projects in-line with R&D strategy to gain competitive advantage in the market.

13. Ensure that all key learning's are captured in the Knowledge Management system by the team.

1. Passenger Car Radial Tyre design

1. AutoCAD Mechanical (2D drawing)

Relevant Experience:

8-10 years of experience in tyre design, tyre technology & Mould design.

Education Qualification(s):

B Tech / B E - Mechanical Engineering
