Job Description

About Purplle Operations
Purplle's Distribution Center (DC) network is at the heart of our omnichannel supply chain, ensuring that beauty and personal care products are processed, routed, and dispatched with precision and speed. Our DC operations handle large-scale inbound, storage, cross-docking, and outbound flows that fuel both e-commerce fulfillment and marketplace replenishment.
The Operational Excellence (OpEx) team at Purplle partners with DC operations, technology, and logistics to identify systemic gaps, standardize processes, and scale best practices across the network. By leveraging data-driven insights, automation, and lean methodologies, we drive consistent improvements in throughput, accuracy, cost optimization, and service-level adherence.
Role Purpose
As the Operational Excellence Manager - Distribution Centers, you will lead network-wide initiatives that improve process performance, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery across all Purplle DCs. This is a program management and change leadership role, requiring you to design, pilot, and scale improvements across multiple process flows, from inbound and putaway to order processing, audits, and outbound. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Tech, and Supply Chain leadership to institutionalize best practices, eliminate losses, and build scalable standards for the DC network.
Key Responsibilities * 1) Network-Level Process Improvement

  • Own and execute OpEx projects across all DCs, focusing on throughput, accuracy, and cost per unit.
  • Standardize SOPs, SLAs, and KPIs across nodes to create consistency in DC operations.
  • Run process benchmarking (internal & external) and scale high-impact practices across the network.
  • 2) Inbound, Putaway & Storage Optimization
  • Drive dock-to-stock time reduction with improved ASN accuracy, GRN automation, and gatekeeping controls.
  • Lead slotting and putaway efficiency projects (FEFO, bin utilization, rack strategy).
  • Implement inventory hygiene standards (cycle counts, audits, mis-bin resolution, damage controls).
  • 3) Order Processing & Outbound Excellence
  • Optimize pick-paths, batching logic, and staging processes to maximize UPH and minimize FM breaches.
  • Lead dispatch and cross-docking efficiency initiatives to reduce cut-off misses and improve SLA adherence.
  • Implement scan-based milestone tracking for visibility and loss reduction during outbound.
  • 4) Data, Automation & Analytics
  • Build network dashboards (throughput, cost, accuracy, SLA adherence, FM breach, shrinkage trends).
  • Partner with Tech/Product to digitize process triggers, maker-checker flows, and exception alerts.
  • Use RCA methodologies (A3, 5-Whys, Pareto) to solve recurring DC issues and prevent re-occurrence.
  • 5) Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive CPT (Cost per Transaction) reduction initiatives without compromising service or quality.
  • Identify automation and lean opportunities (RF devices, conveyors, sorting logic, manpower optimization).
  • Institutionalize a continuous improvement culture (Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, 5S).
  • 6) Governance & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as a program lead for network-wide DC improvement charters with defined OKRs.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with Logistics, Category, Finance, and Tech for DC initiatives.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reviews to leadership with project updates, KPIs, and impact delivery.
Success Metrics
  • CPT reduction % (network & DC level).
  • Dock-to-Stock time and Outbound SLA adherence.
  • Cycle Count Accuracy and Inventory Shrinkage %.
  • UPH (Units per Hour) improvement across pick, pack, and dispatch.
  • % adoption of standardized SOPs and compliance audits.
  • Automation ROI and impact of digital interventions.
  • % completion of OpEx projects within defined TATs.
Qualifications
Must-Have * 4-6+ years in e-commerce/supply chain operations, with strong exposure to DC or large-scale warehouse operations.
  • Proven experience in Operational Excellence/ICQA/Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Strong analytical skills: Excel (pivot, lookup, Power Query), SQL (preferred), BI tools (Power BI/Tableau/Metabase).
  • Hands-on knowledge of WMS/ERP flows (inbound, putaway, pick/pack, dispatch, audit, cycle count).
  • Experience in program management, cross-functional stakeholder handling, and delivering impact at scale.
Good-to-Have
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt), Kaizen certifications.
  • Background in high-SKU, batch/expiry-heavy categories (FMCG, pharma, beauty).
  • Experience in automation projects (sortation, scanning, packing automation).
  • Familiarity with SAP, EasyEcom, or similar systems.
Ways of Working
  • ~70% program management & analytics, ~30% floor audits and DC visits.
  • Cross-functional working with DC Ops, Logistics, Finance, Category, and Product/Tech.
  • Champions maker-checker and access-control principles to maintain governance.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Opportunity to drive network-scale transformation in a high-growth e-commerce environment.
  • Professional growth across Supply Chain, Tech, and Operations Leadership.
