We are seeking a Manager, Data Engineering to design, build, and evolve the digital backbone for our Advanced Synthesis (ADS) organization. In this senior technical leadership role, you will lead a team of data engineers to define and implement a scalable, cloud-native data platform that connects scientific, analytical, and operational data to accelerate innovation, improve decision-making, and enable next-generation analytics and AI.



You will set the technical direction, define architectural standards, and deliver robust, compliant data solutions across the ADS digital ecosystem. Working closely with scientists, IT partners, and data science teams, you will ensure data is reliable, reusable, and ready for advanced analytics and modeling.

Key Responsibilities

Own and evolve the Azure-based data platform architecture leveraging ADLS, ADF, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Synapse. Lead end-to-end platform development by defining scalable, secure, and performant data blueprints. Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automated deployments using Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices. Design and oversee complex data integration pipelines across ELN, LIMS, MES, and ERP systems using SnapLogic or equivalent iPaaS solutions. Enable downstream analytics and AI by partnering with data scientists to operationalize models using Azure Machine Learning. Establish and enforce data governance standards, including data quality, lineage, FAIR principles, and ALCOA+ compliance. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best-practice guidance to data engineering teams.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline is required. 7+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, data architecture, or platform engineering roles. Proven experience designing, delivering, and operating enterprise-scale, cloud-native data platforms. Experience working in regulated or quality-driven environments such as life sciences, chemicals, manufacturing, or healthcare is highly desirable. Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring data engineering teams. Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem including ADF, ADLS, Azure Synapse, Azure ML, and Microsoft Fabric. Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience building robust, scalable data pipelines. Experience with data orchestration frameworks, API design, and data ingestion patterns. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (ARM, Bicep, or Terraform). Familiarity with iPaaS platforms such as SnapLogic or equivalent integration technologies. Experience enabling analytics and reporting through Power BI or similar BI tools. Strong understanding of data governance concepts including data quality, metadata management, and lineage. Experience implementing data platforms aligned with FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). Ability to design and maintain compliant data solutions aligned with ALCOA+ and GxP standards.
