About this Role

As a Senior Engineer in Data Centre Network Service Design, you will be part of the centralised DC Network Design team within Vodafone Technology. This role involves ownership of network design aspects for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with Vodafone's strategic direction and compliance with group policies. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, architects, project managers, and infrastructure services to deliver standardised, high-performance solutions.

You are a detail-oriented and solution-focused professional with a strong background in data centre network design and migration. You thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to delivering secure, scalable, and optimised network solutions. You are open-minded, clear in communication, and capable of maintaining effective product and service development.

What you will do

--------------------


Develop high-level design (HLD) documentation for network service solutions. Analyse service requirements to build high-performance and optimised connectivity solutions. Design and migrate services from legacy environments to SDWAN, ACI, NSX, and private cloud platforms, adhering to Vodafone's security zoning and routing standards. Forecast performance, availability, and capacity needs based on business plans and usage trends. Support service restoration and seamless connectivity in collaboration with other team members. Prioritise and utilise design resources efficiently. Manage data centre network project designs and provide timely updates. Communicate solution strategies and product offerings effectively while designing innovative solutions.

What skills you need

------------------------


Proven experience in data centre build, consolidation, and migration to public cloud. Expertise in SDN technologies including SD-WAN, Cisco ACI, and VMware NSX. Proficiency in automation tools such as Python, Terraform, and Ansible. Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus data centre devices. Strong knowledge of switching (FabricPath), routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, BFD), segment routing, Ethernet, VXLAN. Familiarity with private and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Understanding of Vodafone's network security and routing standards.
