Oversee the daily operations and maintenance activities of the utility cell line, including power generation, water treatment, compressed air systems, cooling towers, steam, and other related utilities.
Team Management:
Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and operators, ensuring effective coordination and performance. Mentor and develop team members to ensure continuous improvement in both technical and operational skills.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
Provide technical support and guidance to resolve issues in utility systems. Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
Process Optimization:
Continuously monitor utility systems and recommend measures to optimize efficiency, minimize downtime, and reduce operational costs. Implement best practices to improve overall system performance.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national regulatory requirements concerning utility operations. Monitor adherence to safety protocols and take proactive steps to mitigate risks.
Budget & Resource Management:
Manage operational budgets for the utility cell line. Plan, allocate, and optimize resources effectively to meet operational goals within the allocated budget.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports for senior management detailing system performance, operational challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Project Management:
Lead and participate in utility-related projects, such as equipment upgrades, new installations, or process improvements, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Stakeholder Communication:
Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., production, engineering, and safety departments) and external vendors to ensure smooth utility operations and resolve any issues.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing utility systems (steam, power, water treatment, compressed air, etc.) in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience in a leadership role within utility operations is highly preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
+ Strong understanding of utility systems, their components, and operation.
+ Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and maintaining utility equipment.
+ Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management.
+ Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant tools.
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to address complex operational challenges.
