Job Description

The role is responsible for driving content strategy for daily fiction on the GEC, ensuring that all development decisions are rooted in audience insight, competitive dynamics, and brand positioning. The individual will shape what stories are told, why they are told, and where they are placed, using a combination of creative judgement, data, and AI-led insights to build a sustainable, high-performing content pipeline.

Key Responsibilities



Content Strategy (Core):

Identify content gaps, over-served themes, and white spaces within the channel and against competition. Build long-term IP planning frameworks--new launches, revamps, extensions, and exits. Track and identify shows for remake across regional and international markets

Strategic Content Development:

Translate strategy into clear creative briefs for producers and internal development teams. Evaluate concepts, bibles, and scripts through a strategic lens--target audience, scalability, longevity. Shape story engines and character worlds to ensure repeatability, stretch, and flexibility over time. Guide major narrative decisions such as leaps, resets, and tonal shifts based on performance signals.

AI- & Data-Led Decision Making

Use AI tools to

: Analyze viewing behaviour, audience drop-offs, and engagement patterns at a granular level. Track viewer sentiment and narrative fatigue across ongoing shows. Run scenario-based story simulations (e.g., impact of a leap, new character entry, genre shift). Partner with research teams to convert raw data into actionable content strategy insights. Establish AI-enabled workflows that improve speed, predictability, and consistency in content decisions.

Performance Monitoring & Course Correction

. Own content performance reviews for fiction shows--launch, steady-state, and decline phases. Recommend strategic interventions: storyline pivots, cast changes, format adjustments, or marketing pushes. Build frameworks for early warning signals and revival triggers.

Cross-Functional Leadership

: Work closely with Programming, Marketing, Research, On Air Promotion to ensure one aligned content narrative. Present content strategy, slate plans, and performance learnings to senior leadership. Act as the strategic bridge between creative teams and business objectives.

Skills & Competencies



Strong understanding of Indian GEC audience cohorts and viewing behaviour. Passion for content - within India as well as international formats. Ability to balance creative instinct with data-backed decision-making. Comfortable working with AI tools, dashboards, and insight frameworks. High stakeholder influence and presentation skills.

6-8 years of relevant work experience
