Role Overview:

The Manager - Communications will be responsible for developing, executing, and managing communication strategies that enhance the institution's visibility, reputation, and engagement across all platforms. This role demands a dynamic individual with a blend of creative, strategic, and managerial skills to oversee digital communication, branding, public relations, event promotions, and alumni engagement.

Key Responsibilities & KRA:

1. Social Media & Digital Communication

Plan, design, and publish creative content--such as graphics, posts, videos, and reels--across all official social media channels. Manage all social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, Google Business, etc.) by engaging followers, responding to queries, and ensuring consistent brand tone. Monitor and analyze performance metrics; share periodic reports with management and improve strategies based on insights. Ensure timely updates on college websites with latest news, achievements, events, and announcements. Oversee website SEO, keyword planning, and digital outreach to enhance online presence and search rankings.
2. Marketing & Branding

Plan and implement the annual Marketing & Communications Calendar, covering institutional events, conferences, fests, workshops, CSR initiatives, placement drives, and other key activities. Coordinate ATL & BTL marketing activities--including print ads, billboards, outdoor campaigns, radio/TV spots, newsletters, and email marketing. Oversee creation and design of marketing collaterals such as brochures, leaflets, posters, banners, videos, and digital creatives. Ensure consistency in brand messaging and visual identity across all communications. Supervise vendors, agencies, and designers to ensure quality, timely delivery, and alignment with brand standards.
3. Events & Public Relations

Collaborate with internal departments to conceptualize, organize, and execute campus events, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and image. Support content creation for internal and external communication materials, such as newsletters, circulars, and press releases. Capture and document key event moments through photos, videos, and highlight reels for digital and archival use. Liaise with media houses, PR agencies, and press representatives to ensure positive coverage and visibility.
4. Alumni Relations & Community Engagement

Manage the Online Alumni Portal, ensuring member activity, data accuracy, and effective communication. Drive alumni engagement campaigns and strengthen connections through newsletters, events, and online interactions. Coordinate CSR and community outreach initiatives to enhance institutional reputation and social impact.
5. Team Leadership & Coordination

Lead the communications team by assigning responsibilities, mentoring team members, and reviewing deliverables. Foster collaboration between academic departments, administration, and marketing units for seamless information flow. Manage timelines, approvals, and execution for all communication deliverables.
Desired Skills & Competencies:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders. Creative mindset with an eye for design, storytelling, and visual appeal. Proficiency in digital marketing tools, SEO, analytics, and content management systems. Experience in handling social media and digital campaigns for educational institutions or corporate brands. Leadership, planning, and project management capabilities.
Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mass Communication, Marketing, Media Studies, Journalism, or a related field. Minimum 5-8 years of experience in communications, branding, or digital marketing (preferably in the education sector).
