About the company:
This is US base MNC Company into manufacturing of Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia. They are mainly focusing on producing green hydrogen and green ammonia, leveraging renewable energy for sustainable fuel. They have a strong presence on a strong presence in renewable energy, infrastructure, logistics, and green fuels as a group.
Job Purpose:
The Commercial Manager will play a critical role in supporting the India Business Head across all commercial, pricing, and taxation activities. This position will be responsible for developing commercial models, preparing cost inputs for business cases, managing pricing strategies, assessing tax implications, and supporting negotiations with stakeholders, partners, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Business Case Support

  • Work closely with the India Business Head to prepare robust business cases for Green Hydrogen/Green Ammonia projects.
  • Develop and maintain financial and pricing models, incorporating renewable energy cost structures, project CAPEX/OPEX, and revenue projections.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis to evaluate various project and sourcing options.
  • Devise the most competitive bidding / tender strategy to be competitive and manage risks in tendering.
  • Prepare market commercial competitive and project break-up cost analysis
Pricing & Cost Management
  • Lead the preparation of competitive and sustainable pricing structures for bids and tenders.
  • Monitor renewable energy market prices, equipment costs, and construction trends to ensure cost competitiveness.
  • Integrate taxation and regulatory charges into pricing models to reflect true project costs.
  • Risk Assessment & Management
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
  • Analyze tax implications (GST, customs duties, state-specific levies) for procurement, construction, and operational phases.
  • Work with finance, legal, and external advisors to ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and incentives.
  • Advise on structuring contracts and procurement to optimize tax benefits and avoid unnecessary liabilities.
Contract & Negotiation Support
  • Support negotiations with EPC contractors, renewable energy providers and off takers.
  • Review and evaluate commercial terms in contracts to ensure alignment with project objectives and financial models.
  • Provide commercial risk assessments to the India Business Head for informed decision-making.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
  • Track market trends in renewable energy, hydrogen, and ammonia sectors including input costs, financing structures, and taxation changes.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for management and board updates.
Work closely with all departments
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce, Finance, Engineering, or Economics. MBA/CA/ICWA preferred.
  • 8 12 years of experience in commercial management, preferably in renewable energy, power, oil & gas, or large infrastructure projects.
  • Strong background in pricing, taxation, financial modelling, and contract negotiations.
  • Exposure to government tenders and bid processes preferred.
Preferred Skills:
  • Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of renewable energy cost structures and tax regimes.
