Job Summary:


The Manager of Business Planning will play a critical role in supporting the South Indian regional TV cluster by driving strategic planning, budgeting, and operational efficiency across Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu channels. This role involves analyzing business performance, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring alignment with the network's overall strategic objectives.

About the team:


The team is responsible for strategizing towards creating and delivering innovative content that appeals to a wide range of viewers for the South Cluster. Through a combination of creative and culturally relevant fiction, nonfiction, and event programming execution, this team is critical in defining the channel's identity and increasing viewer engagement on the channel. They are committed to pushing boundaries in entertainment and offering viewers content that is charged that inspires, excites, and engages them across the channels.



Reporting To:

Director - Strategy & Planning, Regional Entertainment Channel Corporate

Key Responsibilities:



Develop and execute the annual business plan for the regional TV cluster in alignment with corporate objectives Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities and potential risks Collaborate with programming, sales, marketing, and finance teams to align channel strategies with business goals Oversee budgets for all channels, ensuring cost efficiency and resource optimization Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions to meet revenue and profitability targets Provide regular financial reports and forecasts to senior management Track key performance indicators (KPIs) across content, sales, and operations to evaluate channel performance Use data-driven insights to recommend improvements in programming, marketing, and monetization strategies Benchmark performance against competitors and industry standards Act as a key point of contact for corporate leadership, providing insights and updates on the cluster's business performance Ensure alignment of channel priorities with network-wide strategies

Skills & Attributes for success:



Robust presentation skills to help sell the strategy to all stake holders 8+ years of hands-on experience in Strategy / Consumer research & Insights Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Strategic Planning and multi-tasking skills to achieve business objectives, as well as a keen marketing sense to maximize resonance with target audiences Demonstrated ability to prioritize, self-start and contribute Excellent communication and presentation abilities Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and deliver under tight deadlines

Preferred Education & Experience:



Masters in business administration with 4-5 years of work experience in related field (tier 1 & 2 institutes)
