Business Development Manager - Retail Store Expansion
, you will be responsible for driving Traya's offline retail footprint across India. You will identify high-potential markets, scout and secure retail locations, and support store launch operations end-to-end. This is a key growth role that blends strategy with execution and requires strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Expansion Strategy
: Develop and execute a retail expansion roadmap in alignment with brand goals and customer base.
Market Research
: Conduct research to identify high-demand locations based on customer demographics, footfall data, and competitor presence.
Location Scouting
: Identify, evaluate, and finalize store locations.
Lease Negotiation
: Negotiate terms with landlords and property agents, manage legal agreements, and ensure cost-effective deals.
Cross-Functional Coordination
: Collaborate with design, operations, and marketing teams to ensure timely and successful store launches.
Budget
: Work with finance to manage budgets per store.
Relationship Management
: Build long-term relationships with landlords, and property consultants.
Compliance & Licensing
: Ensure all licenses, permits, and operational compliances are in place before store launch.
Key Requirements
7+ years of experience in business development, retail expansion - preferably in D2C, lifestyle or beauty brands.
Strong understanding of the retail landscape across metros and Tier 1 cities in India.
Proven experience in identifying store locations and handling end-to-end expansion lifecycle.
Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel frequently.
