The Business Development Manager (BDM) in the Banking sector is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new clients, expanding relationships with existing customers, and promoting the bank's financial products and services. The role involves strategic planning, market research, networking, and coordination with internal teams to achieve sales and revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth & Revenue Generation
Identify new business opportunities across retail, corporate, and SME segments.
Promote banking products such as loans, deposits, insurance, credit cards, and digital banking solutions.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
2. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, channel partners, and key corporate clients.
Conduct client meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations.
Provide customized financial solutions based on client requirements.
3. Market Research & Strategy
Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs.
Develop growth strategies and sales plans in alignment with business goals.
Identify potential markets and customer segments for expansion.
4. Coordination & Reporting
Work closely with branch managers, product teams, and operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and customer interactions in CRM tools.
Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on performance and market insights.
5. Compliance & Customer Service
Ensure all sales activities comply with RBI guidelines and the bank's internal policies.
Provide timely and professional customer service, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
Manage customer grievances and ensure appropriate resolution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (M.com & MBA preferred).
1-2 years of experience in banking sales, business development, or financial services.
Strong knowledge of banking products: loans, CASA, etc.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build strong client relationships and handle high-pressure targets.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
