The Strategy & Growth (S&G) Business Unit, established in 2022, serves as the enterprise decision-support function. Our mission is to enable strategic decisions through objective data and analysis. We focus on:
Developing robust strategies for core therapeutic areas to provide a unified enterprise-wide view. Delivering timely, actionable internal and external insights to sharpen and enhance strategic direction. Standardising portfolio prioritisation and analytics to inform decisions objectively, maintain product leadership, and maximise innovation. Identifying external opportunities to accelerate pipeline growth with high-value, transformative medicines.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Deliver projects and manage stakeholder expectations for Novartis pipeline commercial strategy.
• Act as an individual contributor while mentoring a small team of Analysts/Senior Analysts.
• Develop advanced analytical solutions for patient journey quantification, forecast validation, and ad-hoc business questions.
• Analyse complex APLD datasets to extract insights and identify trends.
• Support exploratory research to expand advanced analytics applications.
• Apply structured project management with clear documentation and communication.
• Maintain SOPs, quality checklists, and knowledge repositories for therapy areas, brands, and market trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximise business value.

Minimum requirements:

• 6+ years in advanced analytics for pharma commercial strategy, with exposure to patient analytics and launch planning.
• Proven experience in pharma industry or consulting, with strong understanding of global market dynamics.
• Hands-on expertise in SQL and Python for data manipulation and advanced analytics.
• Familiarity with patient-level datasets (APLD) such as IQVIA LAAD, Optum, Komodo, Flatiron; knowledge of Ex-US datasets is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced Excel & PowerPoint); experience with Dataiku and BI tools (PowerBI, QlikSense, Tableau) preferred.
• Ability to integrate new data sources quickly and apply structured analytical approaches to complex datasets.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working in international, cross-cultural environments.
