The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for the overall financial management of the organization. This role provides strategic direction and leadership in financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and reporting functions, ensuring fiscal integrity, sustainable growth, and alignment with the company's long-term goals. The CFO partners with executive peers to drive performance, efficiency, and profitability across all business units.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization's strategic objectives, including financial forecasting, capital planning, and long-term growth initiatives. Provide clear financial insight and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes to ensure accurate financial projections and data-driven decision-making. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish performance measurement systems to monitor business performance.
Ensure the integrity of all financial reporting and adherence to GAAP, statutory regulations, and internal policies. Oversee preparation of financial statements, management reports, and audits, ensuring timely and accurate disclosure.
Maximize returns on capital by identifying and evaluating investment opportunities. Manage banking relationships, funding sources, and capital allocation strategies to optimize liquidity and financial stability.
Design and implement systems, policies, and procedures that enhance operational efficiency, cost control, and financial transparency. Drive process improvement and automation to strengthen financial performance.
Establish and maintain robust financial controls, risk management frameworks, and compliance programs. Proactively identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate exposure.
Lead and develop the finance team through effective recruitment, training, mentoring, and performance management. Foster a high-performance culture aligned with organizational values and goals.
Support corporate development initiatives including mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. Analyze potential business opportunities and provide financial due diligence and integration planning.
Communicate financial results, forecasts, and business insights to executive management, the Board, and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity, transparency, and actionable recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience
MBA or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Master's degree preferred; CPA or equivalent professional certification strongly desired.
Minimum of 12 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
Demonstrated expertise in corporate finance, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and compliance frameworks.
Proven success in managing teams and developing high-performing financial organizations.
Advanced proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and analytical tools.
Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and the ability to operate strategically and tactically.
