The Manager - Accounts & Finance will be responsible for leading and managing all financial operations of UDMRI, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and payroll administration. The role ensures accuracy, transparency, and adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements while enabling smooth financial functioning of the institution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely closure of books.
Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to accounting standards (IND-AS/GAAP).
Maintain general ledger, balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow reports.
2. Budgeting & Financial Planning
Develop annual budgets in coordination with department heads.
Monitor budget utilization, identify variances, and provide corrective recommendations.
Support management in financial forecasting and strategic planning.
3. Statutory Compliance & Audits
Ensure full compliance with Income Tax Act, GST, PF/ESI, TDS, labour laws, and state regulations.
Coordinate with statutory, internal, and government auditors; provide all necessary documentation.
Review and implement internal controls to reduce financial risks.
4. Payroll & Employee Benefits Management
Oversee monthly payroll processing, including attendance validation and statutory deductions.
Manage PF, ESI, gratuity, and professional tax compliance.
Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and reimbursements.
5. Vendor, Fees, and Cash Flow Management
Oversee vendor payments, invoice handling, and reconciliation.
Ensure proper fee collection tracking for college operations.
Manage cash flow planning and fund allocation for operational needs.
6. Policy, Systems & ERP Management
Implement and maintain financial SOPs, controls, and protocols.
Support the adoption and maintenance of accounting/ERP systems.
Train team members for smooth financial process implementation.
7. Leadership & Coordination
Lead and mentor the accounts and finance team.
Coordinate with top management, academic departments, and external agencies.
Provide financial insights for decision-making.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, and compliance.
Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, PF/ESI, and statutory compliance.
Experience with ERP/accounting software (Tally/Zoho/College ERPs).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and team management skills.
