About Role
Designation: Manager, Backbone Delivery

Location: Mumbai

Reports to: Director, Access Strategy and Partnerships

About the Function: ASP Team establishes and maintains relationships with global providers to enhance and expand the TCL network.

Purpose of the role:
The Manager for backbone delivery Management is a position within Tata Communications, based in the SCM/ASP team and reporting to the Director, ASP MEA. This position focuses on ensuring timely order placement and ensuring timely delivery of new backbone links. This is essential to ensure quick turn up of new POP or NNI or maximize the revenue of customer associated access order which may calls for upgrade or regrooming of capacity. Role is to also ensure timely issuing terminaiton order to partners ensuring no cost leakage, ensuring system hygiene in place for the invnetory.

You will be based in Mumbai and working with providers/partners throughout the MEA region. You will collaborate with both internal (Engineering, product, BOP, operation) and external teams, establishing strong carrier relationships with providers/ partners and liaising with internal stakeholders.

You will be accountable for (Key Responsibilities)

Ordering preparation \xe2\x80\x93 prepare for new backbone orders to be placed with the 3rd party suppliers within the set TAT and according to the TATA Communications Legal policy and process the orders with these suppliers either manual or via online ordering systems (where available).

Delivery milestone tracking \xe2\x80\x93 apply know-how in tracking the implementation projects with the suppliers, ability to firmly drive suppliers to meet & exceed Customer expectations, pro-actively identify challenges and trigger layer2 escalations to drive corrective actions. Maintain real-time, detailed & accurate progress status updates to the Program Management team.

Attend regular project review calls and meetings with the suppliers as well as with the internal Customers (Program Manager ).

Creativity \xe2\x80\x93 ability to think outside the box to seek alternative solutions to meet Customer expectations when projects are in jeopardy to meet the implementation deadlines.

Negotiation skills \xe2\x80\x93 ability to persuade the 3rd party suppliers in terms of achieving shorter implementation lead-times, negotiate expedite fees, negotiate to reduce additional costs when reported by the supplier, etc

Escalation management (external) \xe2\x80\x93 being able to pro-actively raise escalations to the next level within the supplier\xe2\x80\x99s organizations.

Regional Knowledge & Awareness about dynamics required to know the local market knowledge and aware of partners & their dynamics.

Relationship building \xe2\x80\x93 being able to liaise at different management levels both internally (PM\xe2\x80\x99s, Stakeholders) as externally (suppliers), able to develop, maintain & grow strong long-lasting relationships.

You have (Qualification and exp)
5-10 years experience in telecommunications, ensuring adequate knowledge of fundamental telecom products, solutions and services.

Experience working in a fast-paced international environment.

Carrier relations or other provider experience in working with major global telcos.

Experience with portals and systems for carrier pricing and internal usage. May include SFDC, AXIS, SAP, Tiger, etc.

Good communication and language skills.
