The Management Trainee - Finance & Accounts will support the Finance team in daily accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and analytical tasks. The role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to financial processes and develop the trainee into a future finance professional capable of taking on independent responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
Assist in preparing and maintaining accounting records (AP/AR, journals, ledgers).
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data entry into accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Tally, Oracle).
2. Financial Reporting
Help prepare financial statements, MIS reports, and management dashboards.
Conduct variance analysis and highlight key trends or discrepancies.
Compile financial data for audits and internal reviews.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
Support the budgeting process by gathering data and preparing draft budgets.
Assist in preparing forecast reports and analyzing deviations from actuals.
4. Compliance & Controls
Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and company policies.
Assist with tax-related filings, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
Prepare documents and schedules required by auditors.
5. Financial Analysis
Perform cost analysis, profitability assessments, and financial modeling.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial efficiency.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with procurement, HR, operations, and other departments to support finance-related queries.
Participate in training sessions and rotation across finance sub-units.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field (B.Com / M.Com)
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
Proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with accounting software is an advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
