Job summaryThe Human Resources (HR) Manager develops and implements HR strategies and programs that align with the hospital's overall business objectives. The manager oversees all HR operations, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and employee relations, to ensure the hospital has a motivated, compliant, and high-performing workforce. The position acts as a strategic partner to hospital management and an advocate for employees. Responsibilities

Talent acquisition and workforce planning:



Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract, screen, and hire qualified candidates for all positions, including doctors, nurses, and administrative staff. Work with department heads to forecast and manage future staffing needs and address labor shortages. Oversee the entire recruitment cycle, from creating job descriptions to onboarding new employees.

Employee relations and engagement:



Serve as the primary point of contact for employee issues, grievances, and conflicts. Lead and participate in employee investigations, disciplinary actions, and termination procedures. Design and implement programs to foster a positive, supportive work environment and boost employee morale.

Compensation, benefits, and payroll:



Administer and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans. Stay up-to-date on market trends to ensure compensation packages remain attractive to top talent. Oversee payroll processes and ensure accuracy and compliance.

Performance management and development:



Supervise the hospital's performance appraisal system and support managers in providing constructive feedback. Identify training needs and develop learning and development programs for all staff. Facilitate succession planning to prepare future leaders.

Regulatory compliance and risk management:



Ensure the hospital's HR policies and practices comply with all federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA and OSHA. Administer and manage workers' compensation claims and oversee employee safety programs. Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records.
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field. A master's degree is often preferred.

Experience:

At least 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, with some years in a managerial role and preferably in a healthcare setting.

Certifications:

Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR are highly desirable.
Skills

Leadership and management:

Proven ability to lead an HR team, manage multiple projects, and work effectively with employees at all levels.

Healthcare knowledge:

Strong understanding of the healthcare industry, including its unique challenges, regulations, and workforce needs.

Communication:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with staff, management, and external partners.

Conflict resolution:

Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills to mediate disputes and handle employee grievances fairly.

Technical skills:

Proficiency with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and standard office software.

Compliance expertise:

In-depth knowledge of federal and state labor laws and healthcare-specific regulations.

Empathy and confidentiality:

A high level of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
