Scope

• Design and develop components for a range of reciprocating breathing compressors and associated equipment.
• Lead on design of machined and ‘off the shelf’ components, including pressure bearing parts up to 500 barg working pressure, from material specification and design concept to prototype testing and productionisation.
• Produce and detail part drawings, including all information required for sourcing team to effectively select suppliers.

• Produce and detail assembly drawings, work with production team to ensure all required information is available to support reliable production planning.
• Localisation of the same product from other manufacturing plants, as well as the adoption of the technical responsibility of this product.

Planning

• Produce a full range of documentation and ensure suitable change control is implemented.

• Produce and implement supplier visit plans to maximize effectiveness of time spent out of office.
• Prepare material masters and bills of material and other ERP data as necessary.
• Monitor the progress of project equipment through design and build process and help resolve any issues impacting progress.

Cost Management

• Execute i2V projects on this product to realise savings.
• Monitor costs and/or adjustments, paying attention to the original targets set and advising management when deviations occur.
• Visit suppliers as necessary to ensure good technical understanding/compliance.

Timelines

• Perform all project and product related tasks in line with the published project plans.

Production

• Create test procedures for product both within the local factory and other locations.
• May oversee production processes, suggesting changes in working methods or sequences in order to improve efficiencies of project timelines.

Documentation

• Create and maintain engineering documents and design change information at the facility.
• Crate and maintain regulatory compliance documents including technical construction files.
• Creates functional descriptions.

Patent

• May be involved in patent applications for new or existing products.

Quality

• Follows ISO guidelines regarding design and production of new/revised products. Assists manufacturing and quality control in correcting any problems encountered in the machine shop or on the assembly floor.
