1. Equipment Maintenance and Repair
Perform preventive maintenance on machinery to avoid breakdowns.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in equipment.
Repair or replace faulty components (e.g., motors, belts, bearings, sensors).
Maintain biomass handling systems like conveyors, shredders, crushers, and dryers.
2. Inspection and Monitoring
Regularly inspect machinery and equipment for wear, damage, and performance issues.
Monitor performance of critical systems such as biomass feed systems, combustion units, and emissions control equipment.
Identify potential safety or operational issues before they lead to failures.
3. Installation and Commissioning
Assist in the installation of new machinery or upgrades.
Support the commissioning process by ensuring all equipment is properly configured and functional.
4. Electrical and Control Systems
Work with electrical panels, PLCs, VFDs, and sensors used in biomass processing.
Calibrate and adjust instrumentation for temperature, pressure, and flow rate control.
Collaborate with automation engineers for software/hardware troubleshooting.
5. Safety and Compliance
Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations (HSE).
Ensure lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed during maintenance.
Maintain compliance with regulations related to emissions, noise, and hazardous materials.
6. Documentation and Reporting
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
Report issues to supervisors and suggest improvements for reliability and efficiency.
Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) if available.
7. Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with production operators, engineers, and safety officers.
Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs or inspections.
