The Maintenance Technician - Cafe Operations is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, safety, and upkeep of cafe equipment, facilities, and utilities. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, quick breakdown resolution, and ensuring minimal downtime of cafe operations.
Key Responsibilities:Equipment Maintenance
Maintain and service cafe equipment such as coffee machines, grinders, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, and POS peripherals.
Perform preventive maintenance as per schedules to avoid breakdowns.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical faults.
Coordinate with external vendors for major repairs and AMC services.
Facility & Utilities
Ensure proper functioning of electrical systems, lighting, HVAC, water supply, and drainage.
Carry out minor civil, carpentry, and painting works as required.
Monitor utility consumption and report abnormalities.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with safety standards, fire safety norms, and electrical regulations.
Conduct routine safety checks and report hazards immediately.
Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and service records.
Operational Support
Attend emergency breakdown calls to minimize cafe downtime.
Support new cafe openings, equipment installation, and commissioning.
Assist cafe teams with basic equipment handling and care guidelines.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and basic plumbing systems.
Experience with cafe or kitchen equipment maintenance preferred.
Problem-solving and quick response ability.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently across multiple cafe locations (if required).
Qualifications & Experience:
ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or related field.
Minimum 1 year
experience in cafe, restaurant, QSR, or hospitality maintenance.
Valid driving license (preferred for multi-location support).
Working Conditions:
Shift-based role, including weekends and holidays.
On-call availability for emergency repairs.
Working in cafe environments with exposure to heat, electricity, and machinery.
