Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and oversee all maintenance activities within a plastic injection molding/manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum machine uptime, safe operations, and optimal performance of molding machines, utilities, auxiliaries, and plant equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor will manage a team of technicians, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise, train, and direct maintenance technicians across all shifts. Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance for injection molding machines, molds, robots, chillers, compressors, and auxiliary equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic breakdowns to minimize downtime. Coordinate mold changes, mold maintenance, and tool room activities in collaboration with Production. Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure availability of required consumables. Implement and improve maintenance systems and documentation (PM checklists, equipment history, downtime logs, etc.). Ensure compliance with safety standards, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and machinery safety practices. Work with OEMs and vendors for equipment upgrades, repairs, and technical support. Support continuous improvement initiatives for cycle time, energy efficiency, and equipment reliability. Monitor key KPIs such as downtime %, MTTR, and PM schedule compliance. Participate in annual budgeting for maintenance expenditures and capital projects.

Required Qualifications

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Mechatronics Engineering or related field.

5+ years of maintenance experience in plastic injection molding or related manufacturing environment

2 years in a supervisory or leadership role

. Hands-on knowledge of: Injection molding machines (e.g., Haitian, Engel, Nissei, Arburg, Husky, etc.) Hydraulic & servo systems Mold and hot runner systems Utilities (compressors, chillers, cooling towers, dryers, material handling) PLC troubleshooting (Siemens/Allen-Bradley -- preferred)
